The aim of the fund is to assist selected local
community projects that might not otherwise have
the resources to be undertaken. Local community
groups are invited to apply for funding for specific
projects that meet the following criteria:
* Will be completed within a 12 month period
should funding be approved
* Will be of benefit to the community in and
around Skerries
* Fall within any or all of the following target
areas – youth, sports, the local community, the
environment
* Would require a fund allocation of not more
that 2000 Euro, which is the maximum funding that
will be allocated from the fund in any one year
Applications for funding should be in written
form, detailing the proposed project. In particular,
the following information must be supplied:
* The name of the group and contact details
* A description of the proposed project
* When the project would be started and how long
it would take to complete
* Who would benefit from the project and how
* How much money is being requested It is a
condition of acceptance of funding that the SCA
will be provided with details of project progress
as and when it is required by them and a written
report must be provided when the project has been
completed.
Submissions should be sent to the postal address
– Community Bequest Fund, Skerries Community Association,
c/o Skerries Community Centre, Dublin Road, Skerries.
The deadline for receiving completed applications
for the current round of funding is Friday 15th
February 2008. It is initially envisaged that
there should be four subsequent annual rounds.
While the SCA is responsible for administering
the fund, the approval of candidate projects is
entirely at the discretion of the fund’s donor.
Receipt of applications by the funding sub-committee
will be acknowledged, and details of successful
application(s) will be published in the local
press.
